About this tool
A cover letter is not a second resume. The resume records what you have done; the letter argues why that evidence matters for this role at this company. The generator enforces that division: one opening that names the role and the connection, one proof paragraph with a real example, one specific fit paragraph, and a short close.
Write the proof paragraph first — it is the hardest and the most valuable. If you cannot name a specific thing about the employer, leave the fit section short rather than filling it with praise. A shorter, honest letter outperforms a complete, generic one.
Common questions
Do I need a cover letter for every application?
No. Use one when it is required, when you are changing careers, when there is a gap to explain, or when you have a genuine connection to the employer. Otherwise, spend the time tailoring your resume.
Is the letter saved anywhere I cannot see?
No. It lives in your browser's local storage on this device until you clear site data. There is no account and no server-side copy.
Can I use this letter for a different company?
Only if you rewrite the opening and the fit paragraph. A letter that survives a name swap without edits is a template, and hiring managers recognise it quickly.
