Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the RoleReady website, tools and guides (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

RoleReady provides free, browser-based tools and informational guides relating to resumes, job applications, compensation and interviews. The tools run locally in your browser. We may add, change, suspend or remove features at any time, and we do not guarantee that any particular tool will remain available.

2. Eligibility

The Service is intended for users aged 16 and older. By using it, you represent that you meet that requirement and that you have the legal capacity to accept these Terms.

3. No professional advice

The Service provides general information and self-help tools. It does not provide legal, tax, financial, immigration, medical or professional career advice, and no output should be relied on as such. Salary figures are estimates based on the inputs you provide and simplified assumptions; actual pay depends on laws, employers and individual circumstances. ATS scores are heuristic estimates, not a guarantee that any employer's system will accept your document. For advice specific to your situation, consult a qualified professional.

4. Your content and responsibilities

• You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter into the tools and for the documents you create.
• You retain ownership of your resume, cover letter and other content. We claim no rights in it and never receive it.
• You must not use the Service to create content that is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, or that misrepresents your qualifications or identity.
• You must not attempt to disrupt the Service, circumvent security, scrape it at scale, or use it to infringe the rights of others.

5. Acceptable use

You may use the Service for personal job-search purposes and for helping others with their job search. You may not resell the Service, remove attribution, or present the tools as your own product without written permission. Automated access that degrades service for other users is prohibited.

6. Intellectual property

The site's design, code, guides, graphics and branding are owned by RoleReady or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from the guides or site content for commercial purposes without permission. Short quotations with attribution and a link are welcome.

7. Third-party services and links

The Service displays third-party advertising and may link to external websites. Those services and sites are outside our control and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. You access them at your own risk.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and accuracy. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that outputs will meet any particular standard or employer's requirements.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RoleReady and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, opportunities, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which is typically zero, or (b) USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RoleReady and its contributors from claims, damages and expenses arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms.

11. Advertising

The Service is supported by advertising. Advertisers do not influence editorial content or tool behaviour. You may use content-blocking software; the Service remains free either way.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date reflects the current version. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.

13. Termination

We may restrict or terminate access to the Service for conduct that violates these Terms or harms other users. Since there are no accounts, termination generally means blocking access to the site.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be brought in the courts located there, unless a mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
